When a drone is high up in the sky or out of reached, it is necessary for the pilots to have a clear sight from the drones. Naturally, the eyes of the drone are none other than the camera itself and is therefore one of the main components of a drone. As such, the next lesson begins with Basic Aerial Photography such as digital camera’s basic aspect of exposure, compensation of exposure and the importance of photo file format. Although this is common knowledge for photographers, the same could not be said otherwise for individuals without photographing expertise. Elements such as ISO, aperture size and shutter speed are some key components to take note of while producing the desired effect and photo.
Since weather can also be a major factor in affecting a photo’s quality, touch-ups may be required towards the photos that were taken by the drone. Therefore, capturing the raw photo file and having a basic understanding towards photo editing are very much needed in any drone operations. Some of the major editing includes deshadowing, color enhancing and removing prop-wash (instances of drone propeller taken into the photo).
