Introduction
 
i-Neighbour Cloud Surveillance System is implemented in order to better enhance the security of a neighbourhood be it high-rise residences or gated guarded communities. By installing IP Cameras within the perimeters of a neighbourhood such as Guardhouse or Common Areas, any suspicious activities or individuals can easily be monitored via Web Portal or Mobile App; all while the records can be stored and used as evidences in case of a crime happening.

How to Setup Cloud Surveillance in i-Neighbour (Admin)
 
Before carrying out to setup the Cloud Surveillance feature within i-Neighbour, please first refer to the link here in order to configure the camera settings within EpiCamera in order to enable the feature. Please also be informed that the setup for the Cloud Surveillance in i-Neighbour can only be done within the Web Portal and by the Admins.

For Web -
To setup the Cloud Surveillance, please login to your Admin account at www.i-neighbour.com > IOT > EpiCamera > Camera Setting. Once done, the Admin will be presented with an overview of two modules: Camera Setting and Access Rights.

 
 
In Camera Setting, the Admins can proceed to add the available cameras (configured in EpiCamera) into i-Neighbour by clicking on the ADD CAMERA button. After clicking, the Admins will be presented with a pop-up prompting the input of the EpiCamera account in which the cameras have been configured.
 
 
Moving on, the Admins can then view a list of cameras configured within the EpiCamera account and are allowed to include the listed cameras by ticking it. Once done, please click on the ADD button to connect the camera into i-Neighbour system.
 
 
From this point, the Admins will be able to view an overview of the cameras added into i-Neighbour system and can select to enable or disable the respective camera in the column provided. Additionally, Admins can also remove the cameras from i-Neighbour system if they wish to by clicking on the Trash icon beside the selected camera.
 
 
After adding the cameras into i-Neighbour system, Admins can now proceed to the Access Rights module in order to configure which users will have the rights to view the added cameras. To add the access rights, first click on Arrow icon beside the role that you wish to provide with the access rights. Next, a list of users will be displayed and you can proceed to click on the respective user. Once done, proceed to click on the Edit icon on the right side of the screen to view the list of camera that has been added into i-Neighbour. Select the camera that you intend to provide the access rights to on the selected user and click the Tick icon to confirm the action.
 
 
How to Live View/Stream the Camera (Admin)
 
For Web -
After finishing the Cloud Surveillance setup, Admins with the given access right can now view the camera installed within the neighbourhood. To view the camera, please proceed to click on IOT > EpiCamera > Live View/Stream. Once in the overview, Admins can proceed to click on the list of camera added on the left hand panel to view the respective camera. Note that Admins can also click on the Expand icon on the top right of the video to enter full screen mode for better clarity.
 
 
For Mobile App -
To access the Live View/Stream feature, please login to your Admin account in i-Neighbour App > More > Live View/Stream. Once done, you will be provided with a video overview of the added cameras.
 
 
Note that to provide a more optimized user-experience, the number of video viewing is restricted to a maximum of 5 videos per screen. To change the video overview, please tap on Eye icon located at the top right to switch the cameras on display. You will then be provided with a list of camera and can now rearrange the video overview by checking on the selected cameras. Once done, tap Start at the bottom to confirm the action.
 
 
If Admins would like to capture a screenshot of the video for reviewing or for the purpose of providing evidences, note that you can tap on the selected video stream and be prompted with a Snapshot icon at the bottom of the next page. Tap the Snapshot icon to save the screenshot into your smartphone.
 
 
How to Live View/Stream the Camera (Resident)
 
Before proceeding to view the cameras of your neighbourhood, please ensure that you are given the access rights to view the installed cameras by the Admins of your neighbourhood. Otherwise, you will not be able to access to this feature.
 
For Web -
To access the Live View/Stream feature, please login to your i-Neighbour account at www.i-neighbour.com and click on Live View/Stream. Once in the overview, Residents can proceed to click on the list of camera added on the left hand panel to view the respective camera. Note that Residents can also click on the Expand icon on the top right of the video to enter full screen mode for better clarity.
 
 
For Mobile App -
To access the Live View/Stream feature, please login to your account in i-Neighbour App > More > Live View/Stream. Once done, you will be provided with a video overview of the added cameras.

Frequently Asked Question (Additional)
Admin

1. I noticed that while adding the access right for the residents, I could only select the level of the building or the street of the neighbourhood. Is there something wrong with the system?

No, the system is functioning as intended. Access right for the residents is limited to only level within a building and streets in a neighbourhood.

2. After providing access rights to another admin, will he/she be able to configure the settings of the camera as well?

Regardless of the access right, any admin within the neighbourhood will be able to configure the settings of the camera in i-Neighbour. Note that if you wish to disable the admin from configuring the settings, you may assign the respective admin under a group, which prevents them from configuring through the System Role function in i-Neighbour.

3. When providing residents access to the cameras, will the residents be able to carry out any other process other than viewing the video footages of the camera.

Residents will only be allowed to view and screenshot the footage, without having access to other functions such as configuring the camera settings.

4. What actually happens when I disable the camera under the camera overview? Does this mean that the camera will stop recording from this point onwards?

Yes. Once the camera is disabled, both authorized admins and residents will not be able to view the footage of the camera via i-Neighbour system. Note that the camera will however continue to store the footage into your EpiCamera account.

5. If I remove the camera from i-Neighbour system, will this affect the camera configuration in my EpiCamera account as well?

No. Removing the camera from i-Neighbour system will not interrupt the configuration in your EpiCamera account.

Resident

1. Why can’t I view the “Live View/Stream” feature after logging into my account?

In i-Neighbour, only the authorized residents will be able to access “Live View/Stream”. If you can’t view it, this means that you’re not given the access rights by the admins. If you wish to access the feature, kindly contact the Management Team for further information.

2. I wish to view previous footages of the camera other than the current stream. Is there anyway that I can do so?

Unfortunately, no. At the moment, i-Neighbour does not include a playback feature for the footage of camera. However, we might include it in future release. Stay tuned for more updates.

3. Can I share the access rights of the camera to my friends or families in order for them to view the footages as well?

No. For security purposes, authorized residents can only have access to view the footages of the camera and are not able to share this access rights to other individuals.

4. Can I disable my families or tenants who is living in my unit the access rights to the cameras?

No, residents are not allowed to disable the access rights of other individuals. Once the admin has set the access rights, all the members in the unit including you will be allowed to view camera.

5. Where will the photos be saved after I clicked the Snapshot icon?

All the snapshot photos will be saved into your phone local storage.

6. Will I still be able to view the camera footage even when the Internet Connection is down or when the i-Neighbour App is in Offline Mode?

No. Internet (Wifi or Mobile Data) is required in order to view the camera footage via i-Neighbour.
